This Gilmore Girls Cast Member Just Put a Ring on It and There’s a Super Sweet Story Behind His Proposal
Rory may be about to be a single mother (although Netflix just gave us a pretty big clue about who the father is), but one member of her GG crew is about to become half of a RL married couple.
Danny Strong (you might know him better as Jonathan from Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Doyle (Paris’s ex-hub) fromGilmore Girls) is a loner no more — he popped the question to his girlfriend of three and a half years, Caitlin Mehner.
On vacay in Hawaii, the duo shared the happy news (and Caitlin’s gorgeous rock) over on Instagram, where Danny gave us all a lesson in the power of persistence.

“Three and a half years ago I saw the cutest girl I’d ever seen and got up the nerve to talk to her. She gave me her phone number, but it was missing a digit. I was convinced she had to have made a mistake (delusional?) so I tracked her down and asked her out. Then, last night I got up the nerve to ask her to marry me and she said yes! The moral of the story is never be deterred by a missing digit. Love you @mehns.”
How freaking cute is that?!? Apart from this guy (who rode an airport baggage carousel to propose to his GF), it’s the sweetest engagement story we’ve heard in quite some time.
Caitlyn, for her part, seemed every bit as happy over on her own page, though she did make one thing clear: She’s still rooting for her fiancé’s GG alter ego to wind up with Paris.
“Can I still be team Paris and Doyle forever?” she wrote.
We don’t see why not! Congratulations, you two!
