This Piece of Furniture Has Been Deemed the Best IKEA Product of All Time
We may currently be loving IKEA’s PS 2017 collection (which is especially made for our wanderlust lifestyle), as well as the festive swag-filled Spridd collection, but when it comes to the best of the best from the Swedish retailer, it turns out that it might be one of their classic old-school items that takes the top spot.
Marcus Engman started working at IKEA when he was just 16 years old and has spent his entire career with the company, now acting as their design manager, which means he knows a thing or two about the store’s products. Chatting with Business Insider, he revealed what he feels is the BEST IKEA design ever, and his answer might surprise you.
According to Marcus, the piece that takes the top spot is the Klippan loveseat. Ranging in price from $250 to $300, it’s an affordable option that’s also an investment piece, suiting various styles and spaces. (It also happened to be designed by Engman’s own father, Lars, back in the ‘70s).
“I remember when he brought it home for tests, and he asked me and my sister what we thought of it. I have a lot of fond memories with that sofa, and I’m glad that it has survived for so long.” As for why he thinks it’s been so popular for so many years, Marcus says it’s simple: “You can change its color and live with it for a long time.” Works for us!
