This Is the Major and Surprising Force Behind Paris Jackson’s Positive Career Changes
Paris Jackson is seemingly everywhere all of a sudden. Earlier this year, the 19-year-old daughter of Debbie Rowe and the late Michael Jackson signed a major modelling contract with IMG (home of Bella and Gigi Hadid), and became an overnight part of the fashion world elite, even going on friend dates with Kendall Jenner.
Despite her new high-fashion ties, Jackson is still clearly trying to stay true to herself and keep grounded — not only did she rock some of the most casual and cool red-carpet style of the year at the MTV Movie and TV Awards with this rad Michelle Obama tee, but she’s keeping family first, getting meaningful matching tattoos with her big brother — and best friend — Prince.
“Sometimes I feel like my big brother and I always think the same thoughts, he just doesn’t have a filter and always vocalizes them😂.” Paris captioned the photo of their Yin and Yang ankle tattoos earlier this year. “Though total opposites, like my Gooko and I, the inseparable yin and yang work together finding and causing balance within each other. Matchies with my bestie!”

Paris and Prince are definitely super close — and it turns out he’s even been serving as her mentor, guiding her recent career shift away from her initial desire to be a singer and into her modeling destiny.
“Prince told her that [their father’s former wife and the daughter of Elvis Presley] Lisa Marie Presley wanted to do the same but failed at it, and he didn’t want [Paris] to fail at it,” a source close to the Jacksons told Page Six recently. “He told her that folks would be comparing her to Michael — and you can’t compare anyone favorably to Michael.”
Prince became acquainted with an influential group of Hollywood heavyweights during his stint working at E!, Page Six says, including manager Arnold Stiefel. After Prince suggested Paris pursue modeling, she signed with Stiefel, and he brokered the meeting with IMG. The rest is history in the making.
While Paris’s family name is also no doubt a huge part of people’s intrigue with her, it’s interesting to see her (and her bro) figuring their success out in their own way, and on their own terms, as well. Whatever’s next for Paris, we’re here for it.
