This Is Your First Look at The Little Mermaid Live

The Hollywood Bowl was transformed into an underwater wonder last night when stars such as Torrid collaborator Rebel Wilson, Sara Bareilles, John Stamos, wine guru Titus Burgess and Darren Criss took the stage as characters from beloved Disney classic The Little Mermaid.

Coming on the heels of rumors of a live action film of the animated staple, this live stage performance featuring Rebel as evil sea witch Ursula (AKA Blake Lively’s fashion inspo), Sara as Ariel, Titus as Sebastian, Darren as Prince Eric and John as Chef Louie is gonna be prettttttyyy hard to top.

Just ask Kourtney Kardashian, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Chloe Grace Moretz or any of the other celebs that were on hand to catch the crew’s act! Running through Monday night only (tickets start at $57), a chosen few will actually get to experience the show live, but you can check out Rebel’s jaw-dropping transformation below:

WHOA. Girl looks AMAZE! We can’t even imagine what it took to get that wig to stand on end like that. Thanks to her amazing glam squad, Rebel definitely looked the part, but if it were up to her, she told Disney Music she might have written the script just a teensy weensy bit differently.

After all, it’s not Ariel’s voice she’s after: It’s Adele’s. “I would just steal that voice out of her throat and give it to myself,” the actress said, continuing on with “Cause she is just the most amazing singer on the planet, I think.”

We can’t say we blame her — that new vid is pretty rad.

Though the Pitch Perfect star looked incredible, she definitely wasn’t the only one bringing it. Sara Bareilles had some big shoes to fill as Ariel (especially with the OG Ariel, Jodie Benson, on hand to sing fan favorite Part of Your World — eeee!), and from what we can tell, she absolutely NAILED the role… Listen to her dead-on vocal performance below.

Minds, blown. Fingers crossed for a televised event!
