This OITNB Star Wore a Swimsuit to NYFW and Made a Major Body-Positive Statement

If you’re as obsessed with OITNB as we are, then you’ll know how inspirational the cast of ladies is. That includes Dascha Polanco, who plays the equally awesome (and, ya know, incarcerated) Dayanara Diaz. During an appearance at NYFW this week, Dascha decided to totally rock the red carpet in a stunning swimsuit (yep, swimsuit) that made a major body-positive statement.
Perhaps more of a bodysuit than a swimsuit (maybe?), whatever it was, it was definitely eye-catching. While attending the Lexus Lounge at MADE New York that took place at Milk Studios, Dascha’s fiercely bold makeup and highly-coiffed hair could only be outdone by her outfit.
She wore a full-length pink and black patterned robe off of her shoulders (which is totally on-trend, BTW), but all focus was on the black one-piece she was wearing with no bottoms in sight. Who needs a skirt or pants when you’re this fabulous? At least, that’s how Dascha was obviously feeling.
Daring for anyone, no matter what their body size or shape, the fact that Dascha was willing to step out in such an outfit is one heck of a body-positive statement.
