This Taylor Swift YA Mystery Novel Is Your Next Must-Read

Whether you’re a lover of classic literature or an eBook enthusiast, we’ve come across a must-read that is sure to be your new fave. Part of what appears to be a series called Taylor Swift: Girl Detective, The Secrets of the Starbucks Lovers is all about mystery, fashion, love, Starbucks and a sleuth sidekick named Lorde. Yes, that Lorde.
The Kickstarter page cheerfully greets us with an illustration of Tay welcoming fans. “Many of you know my music, but did you also know I moonlight as a girl detective?” That’s right, even the most hardcore T-Swift fanatic is probably shocked to find out that their favorite singer is in fact a Nancy Drew type of gal when not on stage (at least in this fictional universe created by Kitty Curran and Larissa Zageris).
And while the story is all about P.I. Taylor, every good detective needs a loyal sidekick. In this case, it’s #girlsquad member and superstar in her own right, Lorde. “This gorgeously illustrated tale depicts the hilarious (and high fashion) hijinks that ensue when my colleague in crushing it, Lorde, and I take on the case of a struggling actress receiving threatening messages on her skinny mochas.”
If you aren’t already totally on board, the tale will take place “against the glamorous backdrop of New York City (and even Brooklyn),” and “there is no shortage of intrigue, love interests, sisterhood and Starbucks jokes in this slim, attractive volume.”
With their funding initiative already wildly surpassing their goal of $4,500, they currently sit at $10,852, because we’re obviously not the only ones that think this is literary brilliance at its finest. Nancy Drew would be proud.
