This University Just Gave Chewbacca Mom’s Kids Full Scholarships
Karma works in interesting ways, and if anyone can attest to that, it’s the Internet’s beloved “Chewbacca mom.” Finding unexpected viral fame when she posted a video of herself trying on a talking Chewbacca mask (which is now the most-viewed vid on Facebook of all time), Candace Payne has been riding a whirlwind of payback after giving so many of us a much needed laugh. From meeting J.J. Abrams to receiving a landslide of Star Wars swag, it just keeps getting better, as now Candace, her hubby and their little ones have each been offered full college scholarships.
Florida’s Southeastern University has sent out an offer to the family, saying in their press release, “Candace has inspired us and others with her joy. We want her and her family to experience some of that same joy through this gift.”
The Texas family, who recently visited the university, is obviously overjoyed at this opportunity. “This is such an amazing gift for our family; I’m blown away,” Candace said. “I mean, my kids’ college is paid for!” Although the kiddos are still pretty little and Uni is a few years away, it must be an amazing feeling to know their future education is secured.
If you take a peek at the video of Chewbacca mom taking a campus tour, you can see that she seems to already fit right in with her fellow Southeasterns. Congratulations, Candace and family!
