Netflix’s ‘Tidying Up With Marie Kondo’ Is Here to Help With Your New Year’s Resolutions
Netflix is the best for enabling us to spend hours lazing on the couch, but that’s not all it’s good for. In the first trailer for its new show Tidying Up With Marie Kondo, the streaming service sets out to help you get organized in the new year.
Marie Kondo, creator of the KonMari method and author of The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, will help people tackle any clutter in their homes that doesn’t “spark joy.” It’s about more than just a simple clean-up, though — Kondo aims to transform habits and change people’s lives along the way.
The emotional first trailer briefly introduces us to some of the people Kondo will encounter. One family had to downsize their home and is in need of help making their new space work; a different couple needs to declutter their spare room in preparation for a new baby. She also meets a widow who is struggling to get rid of her husband’s belongings.
The trailer for the series has a very Queer Eye feel to it, and looks likely to be equal parts inspirational, emotional, and, of course, entertaining.
Whether you’re looking for a little motivation to get started on some New Year’s cleaning resolutions, or you simply want to revel in a binge-worthy new series, the timing couldn’t be better: All eight episodes of Tidying Up With Marie Kondo will be available on Netflix on Tuesday, January 1.
