“Tinder Social” Is a New Feature That’s Totally Changing the Game
Earlier this week, the news broke that Hollywood is in the midst of making a movie about the “worst Tinder date ever.” Now, Tinder’s newest feature is making even the weirdest Tinder encounters a little easier with the help of your friends.
“The best nights are the nights when you’re out and you socialize with other groups,” Tinder CEO Sean Rad told CNNMoney. “The whole point of this is to make sure that happens by design.”
When you update to the newest version of the app, after forming your group of friends, you can select what you want to do — such as “go out to the bar with us!” — and start swiping.
“Tinder Social is designed to make it as easy as possible to plan your night, get out into the real world and meet new people. The new feature takes the Tinder experience to a new level, offering our users more ways to expand their social circles and interact with potential matches,” Rad told The Next Web. “We believe it’s the ultimate tool for planning your next adventure.”
However, if you want to have a real connection, you’ve got to trade numbers that night, because your matches will disappear the next day. (This is probably a good feature, just in case that group ended up being a little too creepy for your tastes.)
“We’ve done a really good job facilitating romantic one-on-one connections but we want to power your entire social life,” Rad told CNN.
