Watch the First Official Teaser Trailer for ‘Toy Story 4’
It’s been more than two years since Toy Story 4 was officially confirmed and given a release date, and now Pixar has finally released the first official teaser trailer.
The whimsical trailer shows all the toys we’ve come to know and love over the years, holding hands and floating through the air as Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” plays. As Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and the rest of the gang happily bob in and out of frame, a newcomer named Forky — a fork with goggly eyes and pipe-cleaner arms and legs — interrupts the dreamy sequence.
“I don’t belong here!” Forky screams, struggling to get out of the circle. His panic sets off a chain reaction, causing the other toys to crash into each other and go spinning out of control.
“I’m not a toy!” Forky, who’s voiced by Arrested Development and Veep star Tony Hale, exclaims. “Ahh!”
“Hey! Hey!” Woody says. “Somebody get him before he pokes an eye out!”
Pixar’s official synopsis of the movie describes Forky as a “reluctant new toy” that Bonnie keeps in her room. The film sends the gang on “a road-trip adventure alongside old and new friends [that] will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy.”
The fourth installment of the beloved franchise will be directed by Josh Cooley. Rashida Jones was originally on board to work on the screenplay, but she left the film last year over “creative and philosophical” differences with Pixar.
Toy Story 4 is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 21, 2019.
