The Trailer for The Case of JonBenét Ramsey Will Give You Chills
The murder of six-year-old JonBenét Ramsey captured the attention and broke the hearts of the entire country. The little beauty queen’s case has never been solved, but there’s a chance that sad fact might be about to change. The case is getting renewed attention in the style of Making a Murderer (which just resulted in a dropped murder conviction), by being the focus of a new series called The Case of JonBenét Ramsey, and the first trailer will give you chills — as well as perhaps a little hope.
It was Christmas Day in 1996 when the heart-wrenching news broke of the murder of JonBenét Ramsey. Despite the fact that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the tragic event, no one has ever been held responsible for the child’s death. With circumstances that were strange and suspicious, along with unprecedented media attention, it was a case that has always left people wondering.
Now, you can join the renewed investigation with the same team that took it on 20 years ago as they delve back into all aspects of the case, from retesting evidence (“This is unlike any ransom letter I’ve ever seen…”) and gathering additional clues to conducting new interviews (“For 20 years, no one asked me. I think it really could have turned the case around…”) to examining the suspects involved, including JonBenét’s own parents. On top of that, they will actually recreate the entire house where the murder took place in order to reconstruct the deadly scene.
No stone will be left unturned with this group that includes Jim Clemente (former New York City prosecutor, retired FBI supervisory special agent and profiler), James Fitzgerald (retired FBI supervisory special agent and forensic linguistic profiler), Dr. Henry Lee (forensic scientist), Dr. Werner Spitz (leading forensic pathologist) and James Kolar (former chief investigator for the District Attorney in Boulder, Colorado).
Premiering on CBS, it is scheduled to run for a full week in three two-hour installments that will be shown on September 18 at 8:30pm (EST), September 19 at 9pm (EST) and September 25 at 8:30pm (EST), but you can get an idea of what it’s all about in the trailer below.
