3 Ways to Treat Your Dad on Father’s Day With Coffee
Hey friends! Irene here, Creative Content Producer at Brit + Co. For me, whenever I think of coffee, I think of my dad. My dad *loves* coffee. Thanks to him, every Saturday morning smelled of newspapers and coffee brewing. My friends have similar associations with coffee and their dads. While mine loved to relax with a cup of joe, other dads loved to kick-start a day of adventure with a travel mug of cold brew.
All dads are different, which makes celebrating Father’s Day (June 18 — don’t forget!) a unique challenge for everyone. Today, we teamed up with Folgers® Coffeehouse Blend to show you how to treat your dad on Father’s Day based on his personality and his favorite drink, coffee :)
If your dad loves to spend weekends getting into nature and trying new things, start Father’s Day with an epic morning hike. Pack a cooler with nourishing snacks like apples and trail mix and, most importantly, travel glasses of brewed iced Folgers Coffeehouse Blend.
One of the great things about Folgers Coffeehouse Blend is its versatility. I mean, you can tailor any cup to your liking, whether it’s with sweeteners, creams, or ice, or a trendy brewing method like pour over or cold brew. For the adventurous dad, we recommend packing some brewed iced coffee to stay cool and energized throughout a day of fun.
Brewed Ice Coffee To-Go
Start off by brewing a ½ cup of Folgers Coffeehouse Blend using 1 ½ cups cold water. Be sure to stick around the kitchen as it brews to take in the delicious smell… mm mm!
Pour hot brewed coffee into a pitcher and add sweetener, if desired. Stir and add 1 ½ cups cold water. Add creamer, if desired. Add frozen coffee ice cubes into two travel mugs and pour in coffee.
Time for an adventure!!
Indulge your dad’s sweet tooth by treating him with a daddy/daughter date over homemade dessert and coffee. Stock a table with sweet snacks like chocolate croissants, fruit crumble bars and some homemade mocha brownies.
Mocha Brownies
Dress up any boxed brownie mix with half a cup of brewed, prepared coffee to give it a deeper, fudgier taste.
Mix all the ingredients together and pour into a greased 9×13-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Let cool and frost with chocolate frosting, if desired.
Mocha brownies can really only be paired with a well-brewed cup of coffee. For an extra hint of luxury on the sweet day, brew a couple cups using Folgers Coffeehouse Blend. Pop a K-Cup pod in a Keurig® brewing system and watch your mug fill with steaming coffee.
Mmm… delightful!
Stating the obvious, but dads work real hard. Father’s Day should be about whatever Dad wants, whether it is being active in nature, sharing a plate of sweets with his daughter, or just getting time to put his feet up. If what your dad wants most for Father’s Day is to relax, let him take the day off.
Take care of all the chores and errands that day and set him up with books, tablet, a comfy seat, and a perfectly made French press using Folgers Coffeehouse Blend.
Scoop eight tablespoons of Folgers Coffeehouse Blend into a French press. Pour hot (not boiling) water in, leaving an inch of room at the top. Stir with a plastic spoon. Place the cap on the French press and let it steep for four minutes. Slowly lower the plunger and pour.
Sometimes the best gift to give is time. Let your dad do whatever he wants to do on Father’s Day, like finishing a book he’s been reading for months or watching a movie.
It’s Dad’s day.
