Uniqlo Is Reading Your Mind to Match You With Clothing You’ll Like
Ever look in your closet and feel like you have nothing to wear? Never mind that your drawers are so packed with stuff, they’re sometimes hard to close. Sometimes, getting dressed is based entirely on how you’re feeling — it’s an external manifestation of what you are feeling within. You want your clothes to express your absolutely unique and shining personality. Uniqlo wants to help, and they’re using science to do it.
Uniqlo created a machine that shows you images and uses neuroscience to determine how you’re feeling. While you’re taking the test, you actually wear a cool headpiece that measures your brainwaves and will assess your mood. Based on the data they collect from your brainwaves, it’ll select the perfect tees for you right there in store. Think of it as a mood ring, but with T-shirts. Currently, however, the device appears to only be in Australia.
Never fear, kids — Uniqlo has also created a site that will help you find your perfect shirt based on your mood called UMood for those days when you don’t know what to wear. And you can use it no matter where you live.
You answer a few questions mostly based on how you’re feeling at the moment, like choosing a superpower or your perfect selfie backdrop.
And finally, UMood will match you up with three different tee shirt options depending on how they’ve assessed what you’re feeling — whether it’s “Excited, Daring and Bold,” “Stressed, Angry and Envious” or “Affectionate, Caring and Kind.”
Henceforth, you will never be plagued with that awful feeling that you don’t have anything to wear again.
