The Way This Model Handled Her Fall on the Victoria’s Secret Runway Has Us Cheering
There’s no doubt that walking the runway at a fashion show that will be watched by millions must be a completely nerve-wracking experience, but one model just proved that tripping at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is not even a big deal, because she handled it like a total pro.
VS model Ming Xi, who was celebrating her fifth strut down the iconic catwalk this year, looked ethereal and gorgeous during the Winter’s Tale part of the show in her hometown of Shanghai. But the 28-year-old model accidentally took a tumble as her sky-high gladiator heels caught onto her cathedral-length robe, and instead of running away in terror like we would have, the Chinese stunner handled it like an absolute champ.

After photos and video of her fall hit the internet, people everywhere applauded Xi for how graceful she managed to be, quickly getting up and continuing on like it ain’t no thang.

Xi managed to even keep her massive headdress intact, as fellow VS model Gizele Oliveira rushed over to help her to her feet and allow her to finish her walk down the runway.

If Xi was embarrassed at all, she didn’t show it, and took to Instagram after the show to thank her fans for their “supportive words.”
In her caption, Xi wrote, “As many of you may already know, I fell during my 5th year walking at the Victoria’s Secret show yesterday. It was no doubt one of the hardest moments I have ever had to go through in my career, especially since the show was taking place in my hometown, in front of my mother’s and my people’s eyes. However, the support I received from everyone yesterday was incredible and I am truly grateful to everyone who was there for me. @ed_razek Thank you for your supportive words and your continuous support throughout these 7 years. @giizeleoliveira Thank you for helping me up after the fall, it was a very selfless and loving act from you. Thank you to all the girls who rushed to comfort me at backstage after what had happened, you are all family to me. Lastly, thank you to everyone who sent and left me supportive messages. I will pick myself up from where I fell, and I will keep going in order to repay all the support you all have given me!! #vsfashionshow@victoriassecret.”
While we don’t think the stumble was anything for her to stress about, we totally understand how she feels, and we love that the Victoria’s Secret models are so supportive of each other — on the runway and off!
