Yeah, Halloween may be all about dressing up in creative and crazy costumes, but the fall festivity brings much more than just that with it. Namely Halloween movies! When you mention that phrase, there’s no way the Disney Channel Original Movie Halloweentown doesn’t immediately pop up in every single ’90s kid’s head.
Without the need of hopping on a broomstick or catching a ride on a flying bus, you can visit the Spirit of Halloweentown aka St. Helens, Oregon (a town about 40 minutes outside of Portland). Every weekend throughout October, visitors will be able to *finally* live out their wildest witch and goblin dreams in the Halloween-themed town where a majority of the Disney Channel movie was shot.
According to Movie Pilot, this particular Oregon town sets up exact replicas of the film’s set to allow everyone to live out their magical childhood fantasies. Events include a lighting ceremony for the same jack-o-lantern from the film, tours, costume and scarecrow building contests, and, of course, plenty of photo opportunities (check out this year’s agenda here).
Looks like it’s time to get busy on a costume to wear for our visit to Halloweentown next month!
Will you be hopping on a flying bus (or simply driving) to visit Halloweentown IRL this October? Let us know in the comments.
