This Gadget Will Analyze and Help Improve Your Skin
Forget the dermatologist. There’s a sleek new gadget underway that will analyze and help your improve skin, and you don’t have to book an appointment. The device is called WAY, and it connects to your smartphone using a trio of sensors to detect factors like the current UV index, humidity and the moisture content within skin tissue.
The sensor detects your skin’s age and breaks down moisture content, oiliness, pigment, wrinkles and pore congestion. It even has options to track a woman’s period and water intake to see how skin composition is affected. It even gives product recommendations, so you won’t waste cash on poor-performing face washes and lotions. The best part? It fits snugly in any purse, so you can take it wherever you go.
The South Korean-based company is currently spearheading a crowdfunding campaign for the gadget on Indiegogo. For $99, you can support the project and pre-order a WAY device. They’ve already surpassed their $50,000 goal with just under a week left on the clock.
“First and foremost, users can work on their general skincare and anti-aging with WAY, based on accurate data,” Dr. Gana Oh, dermatologist and co-founder of WAY, told Tech in Asia. “Secondly, I believe that WAY could even help prevent skin cancer. Sunlight is essential to vitamin D production, but too much can be harmful. WAY will give you recommendations on those environmental conditions too, such as what SPF sunblock to use based on the UV index.”
Useful, compact and adorable. What’s not to like? The estimated delivery time is November 2015, so get to clicking if you want your own WAY.
