The Newest Spring Bridal Trend You Have to See to Believe
When it comes to your bridal attire, we’re all for opting to rock something unconventional. Separates have proven to be a trendy alternative. Solange has made jumpsuits a desirable option. And now it looks like the newest bridal trend on the rise is wedding shorts. We repeat, wedding shorts.
J.Crew just released Laine sequin shorts ($450) which are meant to be sported on your big day. Ultra trendy bridal destination BHLDN also offers a scalloped hem lace romper ($275) suitable for a walk down the aisle.
We’re going to pinpoint style icon Oliva Palermo as the sartorial force behind this wild trend. When the NYC-dweller tied the knot last year, she ditched the formal wedding gown and instead rocked a three-piece Carolina Herrera set that included a sweater, embroidered tulle and of course, a pair of shorts.
Is this trend a little wild? Definitely. But if styled right, this could definitely be an epic look for a laid-back summer bride. If you’re hoping for a more traditional wedding in a church, sequined shorts are going to look pretty out of place. But if you’re headed to a grassy hilltop or a sandy beach to say “I do,” some crisp white shorts would look stunning paired with a braided updo and silky top.
What’s your take on the bridal short trend? Would you wear it? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
