Maintaining a healthy lifestyle while traveling — either for business or pleasure — can be tough. Long flights, different time zones, easy accessibility to junk food, and a general “calories don’t count on vacation” mentality are hardly motivation to keep your fitness on track.
One major hotel chain, Westin Hotels & Resorts, has made it easier to get your sweat on through its various programs. Say goodbye to all of your excuses for avoiding exercise while on the road: At select hotels, you can sign up for organized group runs, participate in a Peloton spin class from the comfort of your own room, or take advantage of their Gear Lending program to borrow workout clothes and shoes. For the summer, Westin has decided to kick it up a notch by partnering with Goop, the lifestyle brand of wellness aficionado Gwyneth Paltrow.
The hotel brand recently launched G. Sport Sessions, a curated experience dedicated to promoting overall well-being. G. Sport Sessions features an invigorating 45-minute workout with celebrity trainer and fitness entrepreneur Tracy Anderson, who counts Paltrow, as well as Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian, among her clients. Anderson’s signature method focuses on the small muscle groups to tone the body and has amassed such a dedicated following that fans describe themselves as a #tamily. The private class will have you stretching, lifting, dancing, and really, really working — regardless of whether you’re new to Anderson’s workout or a regular, make no mistake, you will sweat.
Post-workout, guests participate in a Q&A with Anderson herself and then refuel at a reception with healthy juices and a full breakfast spread. And, yes, there is a swag bag filled with Goop-approved goodies, such as G. Sport athletic wear, G. Soak bath salts, a Goop dry brush, and Goop skincare products; it’s basically a luxe self-care starter kit.
The sold-out Chicago event took place at the Westin Chicago River North on July 28, and the second experience will be held in Austin, Texas, at the Westin Austin Downtown on August 25. Tickets for Austin will be available via the G. Sport Sessions page starting July 31 and are $150. Hotel packages are also available starting at $289.
