Whitney Port’s New Beauty Hashtag Is the Perfect Response to Haters
The Taylor Swift song goes, “Haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate” but honestly, no one needs to sit down and take it. Female celebs who live in the limelight often find that commenters have a lot to say about their skin, their size and just about everything else. Recently, Whitney Port has been the victim of some Internet vitriol after she posted some beautiful makeup-free selfies on her Instagram. Trolls began saying mean things about her appearance, and the City-alum-turned-designer is frankly sick of it. What she did next is nothing short of inspiring.
Whitney took the hate and started a movement. Yesterday, she posted this picture to her Instagram and wrote in the caption:
“Hi guys. So I don’t want to come off as preachy AT ALL! But lately, when I post a pic of myself without makeup on @instagram, people hate-telling me I look dead or anemic or whatever! Over it! I struggled with my skin A LOT growing up. I had terrible acne throughout high school and college and finally got it under control in my mid 20’s. I’ve learned that keeping it healthy and clear is mostly due to keeping it clean. I TRULY think the key to inner and outer beauty isn’t about all the things we can buy to cover up our skin but how we can embrace our skin and keep it healthy. Clean skin is in. The more I keep it clean, the better condition it’s in. And when you do decide to put a little makeup on ( I mean, we all do) our skin is a pure foundation for it to live on! So goodbye haters! I’m gonna embrace my bare, colorless, pale and ghostly skin because I don’t need to hide behind anything. I urge all you out there to not be afraid of showing that beautiful, bare face of yours to the world. Join me and tag all your clean skin selfies using the hashtag #OurCleanSkinIsIn Let’s do this!!”
Heck yes! Moreover, Whitney has decided to begin sharing her skincare secrets with her 991K followers on the social media platform.
She uploaded this snap showing herself with two under-eye masks in her kitchen. She wrote, “Morning!!! (I’m not as upset as I look in the photo). After yesterday’s post, I got a lot of questions about my skin routine so I thought I’d fill y’all in! Check out www.WHITNEYPORT.com (link in bio) to read through my morning and evening skin routine. It’s really not that involved! If you have any questions, let me know and keep on tagging with me #OurCleanSkinIsIn#nofilter” These under-eye masks are perfect for delivering a boost of moisturizer to the delicate skin around the area and make you look instantly more refreshed. We know Chrissy Teigen is a fan as well.
Thanks for the style secrets, Whit! We’ll keep following along for more.
