WHOA: Did Selena Gomez Just Join Team Kimye?
Yesterday was Selena Gomez’s 24thbirthday, as we learned when Taylor Swift returned to Instagram to post an adorable tribute to her bestie, and while we’d normally expect a slew of celebratory photos on par with Taylor’s epic Fourth of July celebrations, it looks like the singer spent her big day doing some *serious* reflecting instead.
Taking to Instagram to vent, Selena penned a super mysterious message that we can’t completely wrap our brains around no matter how many times we read it.
Whoa. First Tom Hiddleston with the cryptic, and now this?
Selena went on to attempt to clarify the post, writing, “I’m not being negative about anything I’ve done. I’m grateful for every single moment I get here. Indonesia, you were LOUD and clearly inspiring. Love you so much.”
Hmmm. While it’s entirely possible that Selena is venting about her career, a love interest, an ex (we’re looking at you Bieber), a family member or something else entirely, we find it verrrryyyy interesting that she chose to throw in the “personal” comment so soon after taking a stance on the whole Taylor/Kanye beef — and one that was seemingly very coordinated at that, with other “squad” members voicing very similar opinions. Could it be that Selena’s not really team Tay on this one after all?
We’re not sure, but either way, Selena DID give us a little gift (wait — isn’t she the one that’s supposed to receive them?) in the form of a potential clue with a snippet of her song “Kill ‘Em With Kindness,” which she shared via Twitter vid, the lyrics of which also have our eyebrows raised.

Selena croons: “The world can be a nasty place, you know it, I know it… Still we don’t have to fall from grace… put down the weapons you fight with.”
WHO IS SHE ASKING TO PUT DOWN THE WEAPONS? Taylor? Kanye? Kim? The world at large? Someone else that’s not even involved in this whole big mess?
Sigh. Looks like the drama may yet to be continued…
