Why Fifth Harmony Will NEVER Change Their Name
Fans have been wondering if Fifth Harmony will change their name ever since Camila Cabello quit the group, leaving the other four ladies to carry on the legacy. Now, the remaining gals have let fans know in no uncertain terms that they will NEVER change the group’s name. And while that might frustrate accuracy-focused folks, the women behind the music have a pretty solid reason for their decision.
“[Changing the group’s name] was obviously a thought just because it was a prevalent thing that there’s four of us and not five,” said Lauren Jauregui while chatting with MTV.
However, the singer then added, “Regardless, we were all very united on the fact that we didn’t want to change the name.”
While Cabello’s exit initially caused a major disruption and had fans concerned about the future of the group, Jauregui explained that their choice to keep the name was based on their shared (and well-established) identity. “Fifth Harmony is the name that we grew with. It’s our brand,” she said. “It’s who we are. It’s our whole entire moment, what we spent five years on.”
And while some people might still be hung up on the fact that Fifth Harmony only has four members, Dinah Jane cleared things up by revealing that there actually *is* a fifth member of the squad, saying that it’s their fans who complete the squad: “Now they’re the fifth member.”
