You Have to Read Will Smith’s Heartfelt Post to Jada Pinkett Smith on Their 20th Anniversary
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are a celebrity couple you can count on. When it seems as though love is crashing down around us, with long-term relationships such as Fergie and Josh Duhamel, Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor, and Anna Faris and Chris Pratt (to name a few) falling apart, the Smiths are holding strong: 20 years strong, in fact, as of today.
The Bright actor geared up for the big day earlier in the week with a little bit of humor, posting a shot of Jada as seen from between his feet, writing, “Our 20th anniversary is in four days… that’s a real feet. J… Get it.” (Cute, Will!)

Today, however, he took to Instagram to pay homage to the woman that’s been by his side for the past two decades with a far more heartfelt message, rivaling the sweet one Katherine Heigl recently shared for her husband of 10 years, Josh Kelley.

“20 years ago we held hands and walked naively down that aisle,” he wrote. “Here’s what I learned since.”
The 49-year-old continued on to share the lessons love — and Jada in particular — have taught him over the years, writing the passage as follows: “Love is like gardening… I have learned to focus on HELPING you to BLOSSOM into what YOU want to be (into what you were born to be) … rather than demanding that you become what my fragile ego needs you to be. I’ve learned to take pleasure in nourishing YOUR dreams… rather than wrestling with you to fulfill my selfish needs and satiate my insecurities. I have learned that love is listening. Love is giving. Love is freedom.”
The funnyman concluded his message with an equally sweet signoff, writing, “Happy anniversary, my Queen! I am forever devoted to nurturing your deepest truth.” Awwww!
Congratulations to these two for 20 years full of love, and may they toast to many, many more.
