Instagrammers Are Using Their iPhones to Blend Their Makeup

We love our iPhones, and we use them for pretty much everything — last-minute TaskRabbiting, scheduling Lyft rides ahead of time, nailing those home renos, the list goes on. However, there’s a new trend on the rise and it definitely has us scratching our heads.

The influencers have recently been posting videos on Instagram showing how they use the backs of their iPhones as makeup palettes. Okay, so while they’re posting it as a joke, folks on the internet aren’t taking it that way.

Viewers have been slamming them in the comments, with one person writing, “i don’t even have money to buy iphone and you’re using yours to apply your makeup?” While another wrote, “how to get a staph infection on your face 101.”

In fact, Kiki of Spotted Style Blog received so much hate for her vid that she had to lock comments. Just prior to turning them off, she said, “YOU GUYS ARE TAKING THIS TOO SERIOUSLY THIS VIDEO IS JUST FOR FUN! IF YOU LEAVE HATE COMMENTS YOU WILL BE BLOCKED AND REPORTED ! MY PHONE WAS CLEAN PRIOR TO MAKING THIS VIDEO.”

We hope so! Cell phones have long been targeted as cesspools of bacteria and regular cleaning is always a good idea. But seriously, if you’re gonna use it for that, PLEASE clean it first — and afterward.
