Mean Girls (have you seen the film’s art history Instagram?) star Amanda Seyfriend is known for her flowing flaxen locks, yet in her homage to pooch pal Finn for National Dog Day yesterday, the actress seems to have not only chopped them off, but dyed them brown!
Though she’s undergone haircuts before and even crossed over to the dark side on occasion, she’s never done anything quite this drastic, which leaves us wondering: Is it real?

Failing to give us many (read: none at all) clues, she simply captioned the shot, “Happy #NationalDogDay folks!”without acknowledging the huge and potentially permanent change whatsoever.

The star posted a shot in a similar style last week, saying “gratuitous donkey shot in wig,” but this new snap appears to be even shorter, clearly hitting her chin where the wig was at least shoulder-length: Perhaps she was inspired to follow through after a test run?
Twitter user Hua certainly seems to be distraught about the possibility:
