You Won’t Believe the Natural Ingredient People Are Using to Tint Their Eyebrows
When it comes to beauty trends, beautiful, thick, perfectly shaped eyebrows are something we all dream of. Perfection isn’t easy to achieve when it comes to your eye framers, but boy, is it worth the effort!
If scrolling through Cara Delevingne’s Instagram feed makes you feel serious pangs of jealousy, then you’ll be just as over the moon as we were to discover this seriously bizarre, but totally ingenious, beauty hack. Get this: It involves coffee, cocoa and, yes, your gorgeous brows.
Teaming up with Bustle, beauty vlogger Jennifer Chiu revealed her go-to all-natural brow tint that’s so simple to make, it might just have you forgetting all about your fave brow products — yes, even that Glossier Boy Brow gel!
While we’ve seen girls upping their brow game with a little help from shimmery eyeshadow, this hack, which involves using the leftovers of their morning cup of Joe, is definitely new territory. As strange as it may sound, though, you’ll want to listen to Jennifer on this one — she’s totally onto something here.
First things first, you’ll need to gather your ingredients (all of which are likely already in your kitchen!): Coffee grounds, cocoa powder, coconut oil and honey. You’ll also want to have your trusty brow comb, a flat brush and cotton swab on hand. Oh, and 20 minutes to spare!
From there, you’ll follow Jennifer’s lead by mixing together two tablespoons of leftover coffee grounds with one teaspoon of cocoa powder (if you don’t have any cocoa on hand, you can do without, but note that it’s the ingredient that works to lighten and brighten your brows). Mix your concoction together and add two tablespoons of coconut oil, plus some honey to thicken your magic mix (continue stirring until it gets to be the consistency of “liquid paste,” or it won’t stay on your brows).
Once you’re satisfied with the consistency, place your DIY brow tint to the side and brush your eyebrows. Then, using a flat brush, apply the mix in small movements, following the natural shape of your brow, from the inner crease to the outside. Jennifer recommends putting on as much as you like until you reach your dream brow shade.
And now, you wait! 20 minutes will do, but if you want a darker hue, be sure to keep the tint on longer. Once you can’t contain your excitement anymore and absolutely NEED to see your DIY results, carefully remove the mix using a wet cotton swab. Voila! Your brows are now red carpet-ready!
