Zayn Malik’s Feelings About Gigi Hadid Will Give You Boyfriend Envy
Zayn Malik’s love for girlfriend Gigi Hadid is well documented. They talk about each other openly, and Hadid starred in the video for Malik’s first single, “Pillowtalk.” They’ve only been together for a little more than a year (after making it red carpet official last spring) and their relationship seems perfect from the outside, but Malik admits there’s a phrase he doesn’t like to hear when it comes to his GF, and his reasoning will give you major boyfriend envy.
In an interview with UK magazine The Evening Standard, Malik admits that it’s not her beauty that keeps him with Hadid, but their mutual love for many of the same things. And don’t you dare call them a “power couple.” “That’s not something I want to be a part of,” Malik admits. “I’m with her because I like her and I hope she’s with me because she likes me. When we come home, we don’t really talk about that shit. We just spend time together as a normal couple, cook food, watch TV, have a laugh.”
And what does Malik cook? Savory pies. “I cook a mean chicken and sweetcorn pie, with Alfredo sauce. I make my own pastry, roll it out and everything.”
While the couple doesn’t get a lot of anonymity when staying in New York (Hadid’s home base), Malik admits he understands that life for him will be in the spotlight. “They’re going to get pictures, they’re going to find you,” he says. Girlfriend Hadid’s career as a model also seems to have rubbed off on the singer. His Versus Versace capsule collection is hitting stores this summer, and Malik admits that Hadid definitely helped him with the pieces in the collection.
“She’s very good, and she definitely assisted me,” says Malik. Talk about giving credit where credit is due.
