We’re all for ringing in a new year with a new ‘do, but some stars have a signature look that *never* goes out of style. Zooey Deschanel is one such celeb, sporting long dark tresses and chunky bangs for as long as we can remember, but brace yourselves, Jessica Day fans: The New Girl has a whole new look, and it’s a shocking one at that!
The mommy of two, who welcomed a baby boy named Charlie Wolf last spring, posted a selfie to Instagram rocking what just might be her most drastic hair change yet. Gone were her bouncy brunette curls, replaced instead by a ’60s-inspired bob… which makes sense, given that it’s the same cut just about every Hollywood mom, from Beyoncé to Lauren Conrad is currently showing off.
Deschanel revealed in her caption that she apparently underwent the shears “weeks ago,” writing, “Meant to post this weeks ago: thanks @mararoszak for my big time hair cut!”
While her blunt bangs are still intact, her length now comes to the middle of her neck, with a far more blunt, and structured shape. Her strands also appeared to be a bit darker than the light brown highlights she normally sports.
The dramatic makeover definitely came as a shock, but honestly, with those gorgeous peepers, she could get away with just about ANY look.
