6 Must-Read Tips That Will Make You More Productive Than Ever

On Monday mornings, you vow that this week is going to be super productive. You make a long to-do list for the week, and feel ready to crush it. But by Monday afternoon you feel a stress headache coming on and lose motivation. Now you’re thinking that maybe this week won’t be perfectly productive (womp womp). If you’re caught in that vicious cycle, it’s time to change up your morning routine. We talked to Jeff Sanders, author of The 5 AM Miracleand all-around productivity guru, to get the lowdown on how to make that Monday morning burst of energy last all week. How to Plan for a Productive Week

1. Get up early and establish a pre-work routine. If you’re not a morning person, you’re definitely rolling your eyes right now, but hear us out! Rolling out of bed 15 minutes before you need to start working, rushing out the door or to your desk and immediately jumping into tasks isn’t exactly conducive to doing your best work. “Prioritizing pre-work is the best strategy if you want to be ready for your day. Pre-work could include anything from an early morning run to drinking a healthy smoothie for breakfast or any other healthy habit that prepares your mind and body for the high-energy work you will likely be doing,” Jeff tells us.

2. Plan on Sunday night for smooth Monday sailing. A great way to feel extra-prepared for any day is to take some time the night before to think through your goals for the following day. “Plan tomorrow on paper, tonight. The greatest way to begin each day is with intentionality and purpose. If you think through tomorrow and write down a well thought-out plan, you will give yourself the best chance to avoid distractions and get to your most important work right away,” Jeff advises. When you’re planning, think through your priorities and determine the things that can wait until later in the week.

3. Plan out every detail. “Small, specific steps are always easier to take action on than distant, grandiose fantasies,” Jeff says. “Break everything down into tiny pieces. I like to call this hyper-planning. Take a current project or big goal and break it down into several small segments and give yourself deadlines on the first few action steps. This process alone will provide so much clarity that you will know exactly where to begin.”

4. Do a weekly review of projects and goals. When you’re working on a bunch of different projects, it’s easy for your brain to feel a bit scattered and overwhelmed, causing a productivity block. But when you have a clear idea of everything you have going on, what stage each project is in and the work you need to put into each one, you’re definitely going to feel way more on the ball. “Take some time at least once a week to do a thorough review of your current projects and priorities. Then, each night, plan the next day to ensure you’re still on track for your plan,” Jeff says.

5. Don’t run away from structure just because you’re creative. “Many creatives believe that structure will inhibit their workflow, but the reality is that boundaries serve to focus your thoughts and give your creativity real direction. My work requires an enormous amount of creativity and I know that the more I plan my artistic inspiration, the more likely it is to happen.” An important part of developing structure for your time is planning to take mental breaks from work. “My most creative inspiration strikes me when I walk away from a tough project after working hard on it. In other words, plan to dive into your work with intense focus and then take a planned break to let your subconscious put together the missing pieces,” Jeff advises.

6. Plan for self-care first. We all know that a healthy body means a healthy mind, which leads to higher productivity. But sometimes it can be hard to actually put that knowledge into practice. Jeff recommends training yourself to think in that order: health before work. “I schedule my health and fitness priorities on my calendar before my work projects. Most healthy habits don’t require a lot of time — they simply require planning. Do the necessary work to plan your own self-care and you’ll easily find free time you previously thought was unavailable.”

  • Visualize success. Visualizing what you want out of your resolution will help you stay committed and motivated along the way.

Let the games begin! The Squid Game season 2 trailer brings a whole new set of games to our favorite players, and it's totally reminding me of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. We'll have to wait until December to see whether Gi-hun is really able to bring down the games once and for all.

When is the Squid Game season 2 release date?

Squid Game season 2 will premiere December 26, 2024. I guess nothing says Christmas like murder and giant, terrifying dolls. Creator Dong-hyuk reportedly took 10 years to write the first season of the hit series, but we're glad it didn't take him that long this time around!

What is Squid Game season 2 about?

The first season of Squid Game followed contestants chosen to participate in the titular games, a competition that features deadly versions of childhood games. And this time around, Gi-hun is doing everything in his power to take the game down, even if it means "starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion," according to an official synopsis.

"As we all saw at the end of season 1, the main plot of season 2 will be revenge," actor Lee Jung Jae tells All K-Pop. "The key figure who controlled the workings of the games in season 1 was Lee Byung-Hun...it seems that the two of us will be the central figures of this next story."

While season 1 was all about surviving the games, it appears that Squid Game season 2 could be all about bringing them down.

Who is in the Squid Game season 2 cast?

Netflix announced the cast of Squid Game season 2 in June 2023. In addition to the return of Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo, we'll also see some new characters including Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, and Yang Dong-geun.

Is Squid Game: The Challenge Season 2 of Squid Game?

Squid Game: The Challenge is a competition show inspired by the world of Squid Game. According to the official synopsis from Netflix, the 456 players are all playing familiar and new games and "their strategies, alliances, and character will be put to the test while competitors are eliminated around them."

“Receiving the Office Depot OfficeMax scholarship to Selfmade has been a game changer for my business,” says Maria. “The most rewarding aspect of the program was feeling supported and connecting with like-minded women entrepreneurs. Having conversations with people who understand my struggles and joys as a builder makes a tremendous difference.”

Here are five ways a mindfulness practice can help you build connection, boost your creativity, and grow your business:

Reduce stress. Mindfulness practices, such as meditation and deep breathing exercises, have shown to reduce stress and increase the feeling of relaxation. “I always prioritize my meditation practice,” says Maria. “Finding a balance is an ongoing effort, and though it’s not perfect, it’s definitely worth it.”

Make better decisions. When founders are more mindful, they become more attuned to their thoughts and emotions, helping them recognize when they’re reacting impulsively. Feeling clear-headed, calm, and ready to face the day can help you consider multiple perspectives, take the time to evaluate risks, and make strategic decisions for the long term vs. knee-jerk reactions that can cloud your judgment and affect the long-term success of your business.

Nurture your creativity. Your best ideas come from giving yourself the space to explore new ideas without the pressure to go, go, go all the time. Tap into your creativity by taking a midday walk, doing yoga, or just closing your eyes. “I nurture my creativity by hanging out with my daughter. We read, dance, and play together,” says Maria. Tapping into your innate creativity can lead to innovative solutions, product improvements, and fresh approaches to how you run your business.

Increase focus and productivity. A daily mindfulness practice can train your mind to stay focused on the task at hand rather than getting distracted by everything on your to-do list. This healthy focus time can lead to better productivity too, allowing you to accomplish more in less time and make more efficient use of your resources.

Improve communication and relationships. Being a great communicator is key to running a successful business. You may have employees, partners, or clients you need to communicate with clearly and calmly on a daily basis. “I have a deep appreciation for my co-founder,” says Maria. “We keep each other balanced and don’t mind talking shop during our downtime.”

Maria was one of 10 Selfmade members to enter the Selfmade pitch competition in her cohort. “Pitching our business through Selfmade has taught us the importance of introducing our target client and bringing her to life,” says Maria. “This helps people connect with her pain points and understand the potential solutions we offer.”
